We at SilverMist Kennels strive to maintain quality over quantity. Though all dogs pictured on this page belong to us, not all of them live on site. Many of SilverMist Shepherds reside in pet homes, brought back only to continue our legacy of producing generation after generation of classic-style shepherds.

Diesel is our baby. He is a Rocco/Alexandria son, and destined to be the next generation of SilverMist's sires. Diesel is outgoing, incredibly large, very affectionate, and wonderful with children. He has completed Canine 4H with our oldest son, Jaden, and at the end of their 1st season, Diesel took 2nd in a group of 7 for Obedience, and Jaden took 1st in a group of 6 for Grooming Diesel. We are so proud of our boys!
Fury is a heavily boned, black
& tan with lots of expression and a laid-back personality. Fury is a
lady's man, and absolutely crazy about Terra's mom.
Fury has matured into the same gentle giant his grand-sire
(our foundation male, Ridland's Faramond) was. For this reason, we have
decided to place him with Terra's parents as their pet/protection dog to live
out his years. We will still call on him from time to time for stud
services, but he now calls their ranch "home".
Hero is a handsome Mottopride puppy, out of
Sandi's 2008 Timber/Kenya breeding. Hero is 98 pounds at 11 months, so he's
going to be a nice big boy. Hero is currently our son Nicholas's 4H puppy,
and we are proud to report that our pair won many awards during the 2009 Lamont
4H Multi Club Achievement Day. Nicholas earned 1st place in Tricks, 1st in
Grooming, 2nd in Training, 3rd in Agility and 3rd in Obedience as well as the
Best Junior Handling Ribbon for his work with Hero. Upon adding up the
points for the day's events, Nicholas won reserve Grand Champion Canine
Competitor, leaving with the SilverMist Reserve Trophy, making them 2nd overall
of the 15 children/canine pairs competing. We are so proud of our boys.
Please review the pictures below to see Nick and Hero's progression from puppy
to young adulthood.
Congratulations Nicholas and Hero!
We do not breed angulated show dogs! Silvermist Kennels only breeds & encourages the breeding of working and/or companion dogs. Please watch the small YouTube video on the show style dog, and you'll understand why we take breeding class, working style dogs so seriously. We love our dogs, the following video is absolutely heartbreaking to quality German Shepherd Breeders everywhere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIaM3hYFszc&feature=related Note the straight-backed appearance of all our breeding stock, when standing perpendicular to the ground. The only time you should see a gentle slope of the rear, is when your shepherd's back legs are extended. With properly seated OFA certified hip joints, sound structure & movement, and healthy coat that can endure a Canadian winter, our shepherds are built to last!

Bandoleros Emma
OFA HIPS "EXCELLENT"
#GS-75405E29F-PI
OFA ELBOWS "NORMAL"
#GS-EL19884F29-PI
Emma is a classic-style shepherd female, line bred on Faramond. Her
movement and temperament are sound, her structure solid. She is a
beautiful saddle-back. Emma is our 2nd OFA "EXCELLENT" female, and the dam
of "Keltic Windsong," our 3rd OFA EXCELLENT female shown a few pictures below.

Keltic Windsong
OFA HIPS "EXCELLENT"
#GS-77248E24F-PI
OFA ELBOWS "NORMAL"
#GS-EL21028F24-PI
Keltie is always working on some project. When there is
nothing else to do, she is quite happy to chase butterflies or birds - which is probably
why she is so lean and muscular. Keltie is very aware of her surroundings.
She is smart and attentive, and easy to work, yet gentle with friends and
family. She is also our 3rd OFA EXCELLENT in the last couple of years!

SilverMist's
Alexandria
Alex is a large black & red female that is very
laid back. She is good with everybody - much like her parents, Lexie and
Legend. Alex's final evaluations are good, she has a clean,
straight back and beautiful fluid motion. She's so much like her mother!

SilverMist's
Honor
Honor is Terra's pride and joy. She is the culmination of many years
attempts at producing a black & red over-sized female with lots of bone, classic
appearance and distinct SilverMist coloration. She and Alexandria could
pass for twins, although they are a generation apart. Honor is very
easy-going. Her kind, confident demeanor could melt the heart of any dog
lover. We are planning to take Honor for her CGN testing in the fall, and
we'll see where we go from there!

Hayden Royale
OFA HIPS "GOOD"
#GS-80930G30F-VPI
OFA ELBOWS "NORMAL"
#GS-EL23372F30-VPI
Hayden is a full sister to Honor, from a later Panda/Legend breeding. At
18 months she is just as thick as Honor, which is amazing as she has boundless
energy. Hayden is a black & tan saddleback with red hilights, just like
her sire, Legend. Each day we see more and more of her sire in her.

Vonderbrink's Lynx
Preliminary OFA HIPS "GOOD"
APP#1338728
Preliminary OFA ELBOWS "NORMAL"
Case# 282/08
Lynx is a completely unrelated female
from Vonderbrink Shepherds. Both Lynx' Dam and Sire are Canadian
Champions. Lynx' sire passed away many years ago, therefore Lynx is the
result of an artificially inseminated breeding using frozen sperm. Lynx'
Dam is incredibly straight-backed for a show dog, with an amazing temperament
and beautiful saddleback appearance.

SilverMist's Halo
Preliminary OFA HIPS "GOOD" at 12
months
Preliminary OFA ELBOWS "NORMAL" at 12 months
Halo is a
light
sable pup out of the first time breeding between Echo and Fury. She is
pictured above just under a year. Halo is a little
sweetheart, always looking for cuddles. As a pup, she is eager to please,
and very inquisitive. She's happy to go for long walks with the family,
but still has a playful, puppy attitude, looking for her big chance to pounce on
Diesel or Lynx.

SilverMist's
Quintessa
Quincy is a Keltie/Fury
puppy from our late 2009 litter. At 8 months, she is a big girl, already
weighing in at 70 pounds. Quincy is quiet, very playful and loves our
kids. It is our hope that she will be Jaden's 4H companion dog next year
unless he is training Diesel for his CGN and CD title. With the upcoming
retirement of her Grand Dam, Emma, Quincy is slated to be her replacement.
Hopefully she'll follow in Emma and Keltie's footprints to become the 3rd
generation OFA Excellent females in her line - the hardest status to attain for
a German Shepherd.
